It seems to me that your 6 words tell a lot about you! And, actually, they tell it In a more “interesting way” than the 10 word play. It also seems to me that grabbing the “gist” in 6 words can only really be a snippet, a loaded morsel, leading to a general sense of the person.

Hemingway’s “Baby Shoes For Sale, Never Worn” is indeed profound … but when you think about it, we probably fill in all sorts of gaps there because much of his life (and temperament) was documented. It’s a powerful snippet, but is it one that explains his whole life?

I think the key is not so much to “tell it all” but serve up a tempting “essence”.

Have to wonder if my 10 words really tell anybody anything (other than myself). I’ve found myself going the other way recently – taking a word and expanding/expounding it to fill a page. Interestingly enough, the less familiar I am with the word, the easier it is.
