Why We’re Like Snowflakes

I tend to subscribe to the notion that we’re all unique. Like snowflakes, no two of us are alike. But, science being science, this concept has been put to the test. Turns out I really enjoyed what it came up with, and I thought you might too.

Sometimes - some might argue always - and perhaps Sometimes - some might argue always - and perhaps more than we realize - artist’s creations are essentially self-portraits. Markers in time; the self-expression of an unvoiced, unknown subconscious realm. And it’s often only in retrospect that we see what it was about - or someone else sees it for us - which I find really interesting. This is definitely one of the those pieces for me. It wasn’t til long after its completion that “ohhhhhh, THAT’S why!” became more clear. (Maybe one day I’ll explain it, but for now I’ll leave it for your own interpretation.) Ultimately, a piece of art is both a window and a mirror to the soul, for both the maker and the observer.
