A Plethora of P's / #27: Peas

proactively punctuating life with the plausible, powerful possibilities of positive thought presented through a plethora of “P’s”.

Peas may be petite, but they sure pack a big positive punch.

Did you know that peas have twice the protein of most vegetables? They also help lower cholesterol, strengthen the immune system, maintain level glucose levels in the blood to keep energy levels consistent, promote healthy bones and boost cardiovascular health. Not to mention their high vitamin C content is a great natural antioxidant that protects the body from cell damage. Plus, they happen to be yummy, especially fresh from a garden.

So, do like Mom said, and eat your peas!

Hey Pat, I hate peas, but I love your image! Now if you do something with asparagus, I’ll luv ya even more than I do now! 😀

My grandparents lived on a farm in Illinois. One of my chores was to pick and shell the peas. You are so right…they are so sweet and delicious fresh from the garden. They’re even yummy when they’re raw! Thanks for bringing back some fond memories. “Pea”ce!

Okay, I want some right now! They are sooooo tasty raw – like really good candy. And Diane, another thing in common with our grandparents and farms. Nice!

I’d love to see that picture. Maybe you should find it and frame it as a reminder! 😀

I like peas. My first major gardening success was raising Snow Peas from seeds. I have a picture of me holding one somewhere. And you’re right, they’re best eaten right off the vine! Thanks Patricia for reminding me of a personal success first thing Monday morning!
