#87: Peony
Dear Peony ~ Your bloom is brief, and your heavy heads droop low under the weight of folds and folds and folds of petals – deliciously soft, intricate petals going every which way, having blossomed from tightly packed, perfectly round balls to form, perhaps (if there could by such a thing), the perfect flower – oh, how I adore your sweeping grace! You are elegance and beauty; you are divine.

June 13, 2015 at 12:45 pmyou are so right!! they are here for too short a time and their heaviness just lands them on the ground….I love them , my mom loved them and my husband hated any flower that did not last all summer so while I was at work he pulled out one of my 4 peony plants and I was not happy about it and it got transplanted immediately…did not make it so I have 3 and one did not bloom this year, this is a run on sentence for you to dismantle this morning!

June 13, 2015 at 12:14 pmLoved this; my peonies recently finished blooming and I miss them–their voluptuous blooms, their subtle perfume. While they’re in season, they’re the undisputed stars of my garden. Wonderful images and words! 🙂
